Pupils work at the Fruitmarket Gallery

Prospect Bank School have been lucky enough, for the second year, to be taking part in the Making Matters schools programme, which is run by the Fruitmarket Gallery. The Fruitmarket’s artist for the project this year is film-maker Tacita Dean, who works with 16mm film. Her work explores the mechanics and processes of working with film and its capacity for making stories.

Some of our pupils have been working with Screen Education Edinburgh (SEE), to put together their own stories in a film that they’ve created themselves. Their film is based around Tacita Dean’s work.

The film will be screened during an exhibition open to the public at the Fruitmarket Gallery from 6-7 October where all 6 schools involved will show their work. Pupils will attend an opening on the 5th of October to see their work on display, and friends and family are invited to view the exhibition and take part in fun workshops at the gallery on Sunday 7th October from 2-5pm.
Please go along and view the fantastic artwork if you can
